Still Plugging Along

Since I've picked and chosen bits of health advice to follow from Medical Medium: Secrets Behind Chronic and Mystery Illness and How to Finally Heal by Anthony William, it's been slow going, but it's been going.

I have not had a personal appointment with Anthony and Spirit, so all I can do is go with what seems right for me based on what I've read in his book.  Every chapter I read it seems like THAT'S IT! That's what I've got.  So I actually made a spreadsheet of every healing food and supplement that Anthony mentions in the book and which chapters they're mentioned in.  Then I sorted the spreadsheet to see which ones had the most tick marks.  I decided to start there at the top.

Just a few weeks ago, I had a healing response.  I ended up needing to go to my chiropractor every day for one week and then a few days during the following week.  What happened was my mid back, that's been locked up for years, decided it was time to let go.  My Tylenol dosage increased from one pill at night to help me stay pain-free long enough to get some sleep to 2 pills every 6 hours.  It took 2 weeks for my body to get used to being able to move that area of my back.  I am now back down to just that 1 Tylenol at night.

I still have much more healing to do, but I am healing.  :-)

Here's what I've been doing fairly regularly since January 1, 2016:

1.  I start my day off with an herbal tea.
Mostly I've been drinking prepackaged organic detox blends.  Sometimes I switch it up and drink Tulsi Red Chai Masala from Organic India.

Anthony has tea options on his website: www.medicalmedium.com/preferred/tea
He also offers a report on the Top 10 Healing Teas: www.medicalmedium.com/report-healing-tea

Anthony mentions in the chapter "The 28-Day Healing Cleanse" on page 307, "Start the day with a cleansing beverage. ...herbal tea...will do wonders to maximize the detox work your body performed over night and hydrate you for the day ahead."

2.  I drink a juice.
I like to get green juices, preferably with celery and/or cucumber.  But, lately I've been getting whatever green juice or organic juice is available that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.  I consider the juice an extension of the cleansing beverage start to my day.  In fact, I did start my day with the juice for the 1st couple of weeks.  Then I moved on to tea 1st and juice 2nd.

The best thing to do would be to juice fresh fruits and veggies myself every morning.  But, my household would not take kindly to the loud juicer in the mornings.  So, I buy already done for me juices.

Anthony mentions that celery juice is good for healing your gut, which I need after years of taking Advil.  Although, Anthony says celery juice should be the 1st thing you drink for your day if restoring gut health is your number one priority.  It probably is for me, but I just couldn't bring myself to drink just celery juice.

What I was able to do was get celery juice blended with other fruits and/or veggies and train myself to enjoy drinking it.  I did stop drinking green juices for a couple of weeks and I could tell the difference in how my body felt.  So, for me, for now, this works.

I trained myself  to like the taste of the celery and cucumber juice by using Hado and thanking the celery and cucumber juice for helping me to heal, that I appreciate and am grateful for the healthy goodness they are providing to me.  Positive affirmation for my own body of water and the water of the juice.

Medical Medium Page 241, "It [celery juice] is one of the most profound ways, if not the most profound way, to restore digestive health.  It's that powerful."

Medical Medium Page 315, "You deserve to heal.  You deserve to be happy.  You deserve to feel whole."

3.  I drink wild blueberry smoothies with raw honey and coconut water.
I usually buy Woodstock Organic Wild Blueberries.  But, last time I went grocery shopping, I was at Wal-Mart and I didn't feel like going to the health store too, so I grabbed the Dole Wild Blueberries.

I usually do combine other foods with the wild blueberries, like bananas, mangoes, raspberries, etc.  I once used regular blueberries because Costco didn't have wild blueberries; but, wild blueberries are different from regular blueberries.

Anthony mentions that wild blueberries are a healing food in 12 out of 13 chapters.

4.  I drink aloe vera juice.
I started out getting Lakewood Pure Aloe Juice and using it in my smoothies; this is also the brand that Anthony has recommended.  In the smoothie it was fine, but on it's own, blech.  So I stopped using that in my smoothies.  Instead, I now buy ALO aloe drinks; I prefer the without pulp options, but I also do like the with pulp options.  The ALO drinks taste better than Lakewood.

Anthony mentions aloe vera leaf juice in the "Freeing Your Brain and Body of Toxins" chapter on page 272, "A great way to detox your liver and intestinal tract is to eat the fresh gel of an aloe vera leaf once a day."

5.  I take Spirulina tablets.
Anthony mentions spirulina in 10 different chapters as a beneficial supplement.

Since I had no idea what kind of spirulina to take, I went with Anthony's recommendation.
I started off taking a half dose of the tablets.  But, I decided to try the powder next.

Page 244, "Spirulina (preferably from Hawaii): ... powder form... is best for removal of metals from the gut...."

6.  I take Black Elderberry capsules.
I stopped taking these for about 2 weeks and decided instead to finish up the bottle of garlic capsules.  I noticed a difference without the elderberry so I started taking them again.

Anthony mentions elderberry in only 1 chapter: "Epstein-Bar Virus, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Fibromyalgia."  EBV is pretty nasty stuff, so anything to help heal from that.

7.  Eating a lot more fruits and vegetables.
I ate nothing but fruits and vegetables for about 2 weeks or so towards the beginning of the year, but the healing response was just too much for me to handle.  This is why I've been poking along with my healing.

For the most part, I do what I can to keep away from the foods listed in the "What Not to Eat" chapter.  But, I have reintroduced eggs and coffee, just not on a regular basis.

I noticed that if I eat bread for any length of time, even organic bread, I gain weight.

For the most part, I've been doing pretty good.
